ESTATIC FEAR was founded in 1994 out of the desire to fuse musical styles such as classical and medieval-sounding tunes with the appropriate instrumentalization (lute, flute, piano, cello,...) with influences from the Gothic/Doom area in a catchy form, away from the usual bridge - solo - chorus structures.
These efforts led to the recording of the debut album "SOMNIUM OBMUTUM", which received consistently positive feedback both at home and abroad. Similar to the first album, the second album "A SOMBRE DANCE" is characterized by more complex arrangements, deals with the composer's personal thoughts and views, and fuses lyrics and music in a symbiotic way, following the mood swings in a mental journey characterized by moments of sadness, joy, anger and realization. Even though the basic tone is contemplative, sometimes seemingly sad, it never slips into deep despair, rather it follows a path that leads to a finality that combines loneliness with the inner peace of melancholy, a finality that gently and gracefully conceals the torment of past hours.
